Bihar: 3 crushed to death by truck on Nawada-Gaya road

NAWADA: Three persons were killed and one was injured when a speeding truck run over them on Nawada-Gaya road near Government Agriculture Farm here on Thursday. The victims were identified as Akash Chouhan, Nandu Chauhan and Prahlad Chauhan, all residents of ward 36 under Bhadauni panchayat in Nawada district. The seriously injured man, Praduman Chauhan, was undergoing treatment at sadar hospital. According to police, the incident occurred when the victims were on way to a vegetable market at Nawada. "The driver of the truck managed to escape with the vehicle after the accident. Efforts are on to arrest him," police added. "A Nawada-bound speeding truck knocked us down," Praduman said at the hospital.Nawada BDO Anjani Kumar handed over a cheque for Rs 20,000 as ex gratia to the next of the kin of each of the deceased.
